This Unit mainly aims at reflecting on one's own teaching practice – based on the contents of this teacher training course covered so far – and making connections to the holistic approach for adressing climate change issues in class.
Once you have completed this learning unit you will:
know about the necessity of the holistic approach for addressing climate change issues
have reflected on how to use the scenarios in your own teaching
have reflected upon the question of how to incorporate Climate Change Education into your own teaching taking into account the holistic approach.
The finale module starts with an input on the Global Approach/Holistic Approach as a way of addressing climate change issues in class and at school.
The following questions (Padlet) on how to incorporate the scenarios and the holistic approach into your own teaching serves both as a self-reflection and as a profitable exchange of ideas with others.
With writing the final essay you are asked to reflect on your current teaching and how to incorporate Climate Change Education in your teaching activities.
The following (face-to-face or virtual) meeting gives you the opportunity to present and discuss (parts of) your essay with others.
The module concludes with the opportunity to give each other feedback on the reflections and an evaluation.
You will have to complete activities such as …
discussions about how to use the scenarios in day-to-day teaching,
essays reflecting on one's own teaching and how climate change education can be integrated into one's own teaching,
a face-to-face or virtual meeting for presenting and discussing the final essay
peer feedback on reflections are assigned.
